Spirent: Testing 5G and GNSS Hybrid Positioning

FREE WEBINAR

Testing 5G and GNSS Hybrid Positioning

Location and positioning technologies are some of the most interesting areas of advancement in 5G. New use cases, from autonomous vehicles to precise indoor positioning, are driving the need for significant improvements in the accuracy, speed and availability of positioning information.

In this webinar, Spirent and Fraunhofer will give an overview of 5G enhancements to current positioning techniques and share insights into the development and testing of positioning solutions that use both 5G and GNSS.

Learn about Fraunhofer's work with Spirent's GSS9000 GNSS simulator, Sim3D signal propagation modelling, and inertial sensor simulation to develop the next generation of 5G hybrid positioning solutions.

Topics covered:

  • Drivers and requirements for greater positioning accuracy (autonomous vehicles and indoor positioning)
  • Overview of cellular and other positioning technologies
  • Timeline for 5G location technologies/3GPP standardization
  • The need to test and the test challenges
  • 5G and GNSS hybrid positioning simulation

Spirent will be joined by Fraunhofer, a leading partner for organizations using local and global positioning technologies to develop connected digital applications in production, logistics, security, mobility and sport/fitness.
